The Executive Team

Ben Satterlee - CEO

Ben joined Harbor Division as a lumper and forklift driver in 1999. While attending college full-time he continued to work his way up the ranks as yard manager, AR manager, dispatcher and safety director until joining the Army on 9/12/2001 (the day after the September 11th tragedy).

After returning to Harbor Division in 2006 upon the completion of his military service Ben spent 3 years as a port truck driver before moving back into dispatch and operations and used the leadership skills he had gained in the Army to organize the Harbor Division team and improve their efficiencies. By focusing on business growth and creating an atmosphere of excellence Ben successfully transformed Harbor Division into a premiere drayage and equipment storage provider. His efforts earned him the position of Vice President and he continued to grow the business until purchasing Harbor Division and becoming its CEO in 2016. 

On a personal level, Ben is a strong supporter of the military. In an effort to assist Veterans and their family members Ben founded the Satterlee Foundation (a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization) in 2016 and currently serves as its President and Chairman. http://satterleefoundation.org/ 

David Hauser - COO

David has 17 years of progressive experience in the logistics field and began his career in 2001 as an import clerk for largest provider of CBP CES Examination Services in the United States. Under the direction of upper management David quickly worked his way up the corporate ladder and by 2003 was promoted to Distribution Manager in charge of premier distribution accounts. 

In 2005, David was recruited to join an apparel company as their West Coast Warehouse Operations Manager.  For the next few years David oversaw the company’s inventory management, staffing, contract negotiations, rating and customer service at the company’s headquarters account assisting management for six major warehouse operations in California. During this time David helped develop a “cost plus” rate structure that allowed more flexibility for the dynamic pick and pack operations that was previously not available.  This allowed warehouses to adjust staffing levels daily where necessary, which helped to efficiently manage resources to the peaks and valleys of the seasonal accounts. 

In 2009, David was recruited to Harbor Division by the current owner where he quickly became an integral part of the organization.  Having worked many positions within the organization, David has been able to help grow the business since 2009 from a very small firm managing a dispatch of 10 trucks and servicing a handful of accounts, to managing a dispatch of 70 trucks and servicing 450 customers. 

David is a certified Global Logistics Specialist and each year attends multiple training programs to stay current in this ever changing logistics environment.

John McNichols - CFO

John has 30 years of progressively responsible financial accounting/finance experience, directing the financial operations of multiple private firms and a public company subsidiary, whose revenues ranged from $5-$200M. John has led many of these companies or their managed entities, including those with international subsidiaries, through acquisitions, Chapter 11 bankruptcy, court appointed receivership, startup and growth modes.

John has spent the past 20 years as a CEO advisor, Chief Financial Officer, Controller, VP Finance, director and consultant in a variety of industries, including trucking/logistics, leather manufacturing, computer software, skin care, nutraceuticals, real estate, engineering, medical claims & recreational management.

John holds a Bachelor of Science degree with a Major in Accounting from DePaul University and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) which was awarded to him by the University of Illinois.

Kathleen Nedelec - General Manager

Kathleen Nedelec has over 30 years’ experience in the trucking industry, all of which has been acquired working at Harbor Division.  Kathleen has held or supported many positions within the company during her tenure.       

In 2009, Kathleen transitioned from an operational role to the position of Human Resource manager and became a member of SHRM in 2010.  

In her personal life, Kathleen enjoys time spent with family and friends, traveling, yoga and tennis.
